Frequently Asked Question: What is the Best Sex Position for Maximum Fertility?

By James Ryan Toledo

Couples wanting to have a baby often ask this question: “What is the best sex position that guarantees pregnancy?”.

The answer is: there is no single sex position that guarantees pregnancy; but there are sexual positions that increases the chances of getting a woman pregnant. Consider these:

The keys to increasing the chances of pregnancy if we’re talking about sexual position are penetration and angle. Most doctors and sexual relationship experts would recommend position where the man is on top like the ‘default’ missionary position where the man goes and remains on top of the woman during sexual intercourse. Even better, propping a pillow or raising a woman’s leg while being in the missionary position can increase the chances of pregnancy as the semen (and the sperm contained within) is best delivered and contained into the uterus. This variation in the missionary position also enhances pleasure for both partners and provides much more intimacy than most positions.

Another highly recommended position is doggy-style wherein the woman goes on all fours or at least bends over and lets her man enter her from behind. This is a deep penetrating position that has just the right angle to deliver sperm into the uterus. For added pleasure, a man can reach for his partners breasts and or clitoris while the woman can reach into her partners scrotum while in this position.

Another useful position to remember is the spoons position where a woman lies on the side as her partner penetrates her and then subsequently lies and proceeds to thrusting at an angle. This is a deep penetrating and comfortable position, not to mention a very sensual one as both man and woman can caress themselves on the fly.

So, if there are positions that enhances your chances of getting your partner pregnant, there are also those that you would have to avoid. Positions require partners to sit, stand or have the woman on top should be generally avoided as this could let the semen spill (by virtue of gravity) out after intercourse. It is also best to stay out of sex-in-the-water routines, especially hot water for two reasons: first is that hot water decreases sperm survival rates and second, semen may just spill out of the water due to slip ups or some other factor.

Of course sexual position is not the only factor affecting fertility. The amount and quality of a man’s sperm are also significant factors in enhancing the chances of pregnancy. The hormone testosterone is a man’s deciding factor for sperm quality and quantity and health supplements like Enduranz, which contains Tongkat-Ali extract enhances testosterone production in men.

Enduranz Capsule for Men is a multi -herb natural food supplement containing Tongkat-Ali, Banaba (Lagerstroenii speciosa), Malungay (Moringa oleifera), and Gotu Kola (Centella asiatica). These herbs restore male energies that had been lost over years.

Sperm health and Underwear

By James Ryan Toledo

Today’s men have two (2) major choices for underwear: boxer shorts or briefs. Tradition dictates that men wear briefs – the white cottony kind that we start to wear after circumcision as a sign of coming of age.  But in the last few years we have seen the debut of the boxer shorts as an alternative for the tighty whities.   But there is evidence that tight underwear can lead to male infertility believe it or not.

In numerous studies conducted centered on the relationship between sperm health and choice of underwear, it shows that the tighter and warmer your underwear is the more likely can a man develop low sperm count and infertility. Yes gentlemen, your choice of underwear can lead to an unhappy relationship with your partner.

Let us start with the basics. The testes is contained within a skin sac called the scrotum which lies outside the body. Sure it has been there for as long as you know but there is a reason why it is there: to keep the testes cool enough for sperm production. The scrotum is positioned this way so that it is kept away from the body’s core temperature. Ideally, the testes should be kept around 2 degrees Celsius lower than the core/body temperature. Go beyond that and you may end up with either low sperm count or worse infertility.

How tight or lose men’s underwear is now becomes a subject for debate when it comes to sperm count. Briefs are okay but when it comes to ease of movement and comfort, boxers are the way to go. Boxers allow the scrotum some ‘breathing space’ that is important in sperm production. Studies show that healthier sperm are produced when the penis’ tubes and other internal parts are less restricted and as mentioned earlier, cooler than the body’s internal temperature.

And aside from the choice of underwear, things like the temperature outside the scrotum and activities before sexual intercourse come into play. Here is a short checklist of what and what not to do if you want to ensure high fertility rates:

  • avoid taking a hot bath or sauna before sexual intercourse- sure it might be romantic, but if you and your partner is aiming for a child then avoiding that sauna or any hot water treatment is among the top things you should avoid.
  • wear boxers all the time, inside loose clothing – of course wearing a boxer alone will do the trick, pair it up with loose jeans or shorts for maximum effect.
  • watch you lifestyle-more exercise and less toxins mean better sperm health
  • health supplements- like Enduranz, made from Tongkat Ali can boost physical prowess in and out the bedroom.

Weak Sperm

By James Ryan Toledo

Infertility for Filipinos and this condition has been attributed to a lot of unhealthy conditions that men encounter everyday. We have discussed low sperm count before, a condition when the ratio of sperm present in the semen is not enough to cause fertilization. This time around, what if the number or ratio of sperm is enough but the thing is, the sperm is weak?

This condition is known simply as weak sperm. As the name suggests, there may be enough sperm in the semen but not all have what it takes to swim through the female reproductive tract and fertilize the egg. Weak sperm indicates either unfit or even abnormal sperm (those with no heads, short tails etc.)

Weak sperm though is not synonymous to infertility. It only means that the fertilization may be delayed or the occurrence of fertilization may be decreased. Thus, the quality of a man’s sperm is also important as with the quantity.

Weak sperm is linked to a number of causes: the frequency of ejaculation, the intake of harmful chemicals and diet. Let us discuss frequency of ejaculation first. A study shows that a man that ejaculates less per week happens to have more quality sperm than those that ejaculate frequently throughout the week. The frequency not only includes the number of time a man ejaculates through sexual intercourse but also through some other means such as masturbation and an extraction of sperm during donation. So in improving sperm quality, a little abstinence does help.

Chemicals are also a factor in the occurrence of weak sperm. Studies show that farmers and pesticides manufacturers are prone to developing weak sperm. Three chemicals are identified to cause this: atrazine, alachor and diazinon. These chemicals are now under review and may be banned as soon as they are found to be thoroughly detrimental to men’s reproductive health.

Diet also plays a role in the development of weak sperm. It is found out that men with high fat and protein diets are more prone to this condition than those who follow a diet rich in fruits and vegetables.

So next time that you’re planning to have another child and you suspect that you have weak sperm, consider the factors above. Exercise and proper daily physical activities as well as avoidance of alcohol, prohibited drugs and smoking also leads to the improvement of sperm quality.

Of course, intake of natural health supplements such s Enduranz would also help in improving sperm quality. Enduranz contains the right amount of Tongkat-Ali extract known to increase testosterone, a key hormone in sperm production.

Low Sperm Count and You Part 2

By James Ryan Toledo

As we have discussed from an earlier article, fertilization can be adversely affected by factors from the male side of thing, among these factors is low sperm count. Low sperm count(scientifically known as oligospermia) properly defined, is the condition in which a male’s semen contains less than 20 million sperm per milliliter.

Here in the Philippines, close to two million males are affected by low sperm count. We are now put into the list of countries with critical levels of this condition. And as statistics show, more are Filipino men are being affected by this condition each day.

In the previous article, we have pointed out that low sperm count can be attributed to semen abnormalities (includes acidity, lack of nutrients for the sperm, temperature etc.), the affected male’s reproductive tract (in which in some cases may be too narrow) or may be even due to a man’ own immune system (there are rare cases in which a man’s immune system antagonizes his own cells, including sperm). Here are other causes of low sperm count in males:

  • Failure of the testes to produce enough sperm – a condition known as Sertoli Cell-Only Syndrome which hinders the testes to produce the right amount of sperm for the semen. This condition is often genetically or hormonally linked.
  • Antagonistic and recreational drugs – some prescription drugs, antibiotics and ulcer medicines can adversely affect sperm production. Most notable is Ketoconazole which is a common, over-the-counter anti-fungal that is used for treatment of crotch itch. Alcohol and caffeine are also found out to be antagonistic to sperm formation. Smoking, as a habit also decreases sperm count in men.
  • Hormonal imbalance – some men may develop hormonal imbalance that can adversely affect not only his sperm count but also his behavior and some physical characteristics such as facial hair, muscular build and testicular development.
  • Lifestyle – men with a sedentary lifestyle are more prone to low sperm count than active men.
  • Environmental – men who are constantly exposed to pollution and hazardous work conditions suffer from low sperm count or weak sperm.

Fortunately, there are safe and natural way to increase sperm count. Proper exercise and an active lifestyle helps in healthy sperm formation. Avoiding smoking and alcohol also increases survivability and viability of sperm significantly. Supporting the diet with herbal supplements such as Tongkat-Ali also works wonders.

Enduranz is made from Tongkat-Ali and other herbs which increases testosterone levels in males which in turn increases sperm production for proper fertilization.

Low Sperm Count and You Part 1

By James Ryan Toledo

Many men wonder how, in their many bedroom escapades with their spouses, cannot seem to produce an offspring. Most attribute this to external factors such as the room temperature or the way they put in their underwear that night. But many men do not realize that the problem may be within themselves. And this may be attributed to low sperm count.

Low sperm count may be the next dreaded thing a man does not want to hear next to impotence. The condition is known scientifically as oligospermia. This happens when the male’s semen does not have enough sperm in it to facilitate normal fertilization.

You may ask: how is fertilization rendered impossible when there are millions of sperm in a single drop of semen? The answer lies in the amount of sperm per milliliter of semen: normal sperm count lies at around 20 million sperm per milliliter. Anything lower than that and it will significantly lower the chances of fertilization.

Fact is, even though there are millions and millions of sperm in a drop (and you can imagine how much a man can ejaculate) of semen, the sperm inside the fluid would still have to travel trough the female reproductive tract and this will entail casualties as the tract proves to be volatile for sperm. In the end, only a few thousand or in worse cases a few hundred sperm will compete to fertilize a single egg.

Now, with low sperm count, the chances of having those thousands of sperm reaching out to the egg is dramatically decreased. It is like sending an ill-funded army to a global war. Let’s go a little further and analyze some of the factors related to low sperm count:

  • Abnormalities in the seminal fluid itself – a man may have too thick a semen for sperm to swim about, adding to the stress in which the sperm would have to undertake going through the female reproductive tract.
  • The man’s own immunology – it is possible that a man’s immune system can also antagonize his own sperm cells due to infection or trauma although these cases are rare.
  • Problem with the ductal system – A man may have too narrow a seminal tract which can also prevent him to release the proper amount of semen for fertilization.

Fortunately, there is a safe and natural way to increase sperm count. Enduranz is made from Tongkat-Ali which increases testosterone levels in males which in turn increases sperm production for proper fertilization.

Enduranz is an all natural health supplement that contains Tongkat-Ali extracts. Tongkat-Ali (Eurycoma longifolia) is a wonder plant that is dubbed as the “Viagra of Asia” due to its testosterone-inducing effects. Unlike steroids that do more harm than good, Enduranz is all natural and does not have any harmful side-effects.
